Hunter and Sonia met in 1978 when Sonia started piano lessons with Hunter. They immediately formed a close relationship as teacher and student, which has grown over time into a close friendship as well as a mutual respect for each other as piano teachers. Over the years they have collaborated on many levels, including trips with their students to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and to Austria and Germany. They have also developed and implemented a lab program for use in the private studio, which they plan on making available to the public in the future. They developed their Music Camp Series when they decided to offer a music camp to their students and realized there is a lack of music camp material on the market. Hunter and Sonia have combined their talents and passion for presenting motivational material to their students to form Moncure-Haxton Music and their exciting Music Camp Series, now available to music teachers nationwide.
